This beautiful pair of African figurines are hand-carved from ebony wood by a Malawian artisan, with no two sculptures being exactly alike. The ebony-wood sculptures are the characterization of an elongated husband and wife, in which she is bearing a child and carrying a basket upon her head; while he is in deep thought. Note the metal necklace around her neck and the bracelet and anklet on each of their wrist and ankle.
